Seeing that the poor lone wraith is well in hand, Kyomi opens up her book, leafs through it a moment, then reaches inside, and pulls out a new outfit. She simply puts it on over the first, and the old one vanishes.
Her Shadow's aura of darkness pales/brightens somewhat, and his wounds start to heal.
"No more enthusiastic fireballs? Please?" He says to those gathered, then to Kyomi, "Armor?"
After settling her new dress over her shoulders, she nods, and up-ends the book, dumping a full suit of mercurial scale armor onto the floor. |

Semaj commenting to Gordan.
"Restraint? That was restrained!"
Semaj beginning to walk down the hallway stops and looks at Kyomi, unable to lessen his almost smug smile.
"Armor? That's to bad you looked cute with the wings and the tail and the wanting to hurt me look in your eyes."
Semaj chuckled while he could.
"I'll be more careful to make sure everyone is out of the splash zone next time. But I am horrible with subtly and restraint.... and traps, as one could find out form this situation. Want help with that? I know how much of a pain it is to suit up.

Petros continued on toward the group. He to was becoming impatient. Though unlike he creator he was better at restraining himself from impulses.

Shan chuckles nervously. He mumbles a belated apology in Kyomi's Shadow's direction, awkwardly avoiding direct eye contact. "Yeah, sorry about earlier."
Shan exhales sharply to clear the smell of smoke from his nostrils, then he starts following after Gordon. He seems unimpressed by the experience of having an explosion go off several feet in front of him. |

Moving much faster than the ponderous mass of the stone golem, Ceriph and Frost Fire soon come up on Petros. And Ceriph responds much as you might expect...
"Ooooh! There's a lot of golems in here, aren't there? I guess that means there are a bunch of Magi around... hmmmm. Oh yeah, hey, big guy, can you talk? I don't think my gem friend here can but that's okay, everyone is created differently and you should be accepting of that and stuff. Anyways, I'm Ceriph and I'm looking for my big brother Valadin. He's about your size but clay and covered in lots of lots armor and chivalry and nobility and stuff. He talks real funny and never shuts up and he's got my letter so I went to find him. Have you seen him? I was following his feet marks but I think that might have been your foot. Feet?"
She beams at Petros, then bounces a little as she waits to see if he replies. |

Yes, Semaj, help me with this." Her Shadow says, taking the biggest bit of armor, and putting it on over his head, "The straps can be a pain sometimes."
Kyomi regains a little of her composure, and starts to lose her 'extra' features. "Gordon, you know a little bit more than you're letting on, don't you?" Then with a glance to Lucy, "And you're married, don't stare at my tail. Bad enough with all the golems trying to make sense of things... I'd swear some of them have borrowed persona..." |

"Well I don't know, but I think I agree with his sentiment." Lucy had no problems over hearing the conversation. "You do have a very nice tail, but this is neither the time nor place." While Lucy seems amused, she more concerned with the current situation, then with her husbands behavior.

Semaj helped Shadow with the armor.
"Yeah, the straps can be a pain. If you bring this armor over to my workshop sometime I can modify the buckles. It will make the armor go on easier." Semaj talks as he tightens the last few straps.
"Looking good." Semaj commented.
Meliae made her way over to Semaj and jumped back into his cloak.
"Meliae, I was wondering where you went. Petros will be here soon I take it."

Petros smiles at the newcomer. He would butt his way into the conversation.
"Ceriph was it? I am Petros. Its nice to meet you. Your brother should be up this way. I am 'smart' as you put it and I am not quiet, I just speak with the same speed that I move. And I don't have a boyfriend but that works out for me as I am a boy." Petros continued down the cavern and was a bit happier than before. Simply glad to know how many more golems where like himself. He would soon be caught up with the group. |

After considering Lucy's suggestion, Shan traces out a standard strength enhancement across Eurus' back.
"So, are we just going to kick in the door and start smashing stuff? Or maybe we'd like a basic plan?" Shan pauses to reconsider that question. "I mean, something less basic than 'smash stuff.' How detailed is your map of the room?" |

"Plan eh? Well I'm willing to lend an ear." Gordon says some harshness in his voice. "I keep hearing about them, but all the eyes fall on me. I do know quite a bit about wraiths, I won't lie, but how am I suppose to plan when there's no way for me to tell what where getting into?" Gordon directs his hand towards the next door, the next room. "If you can see through walls and tell me what's in there go ahead, all I can tell you for sure is there's magic energy swirling in there and lots of it." Gordon doesn't seem very angry, but he is annoyed. Suddenly Goron see a glowing set of eyes come around the corner behind them.

Ceriph, seeing the group of Magi but not yet seeing Valadin at the front of the group, stiffens a little. "Golem Ceriph attending, Magus" she says in a overly fake tinny voice.
Valadin's head comes up and his eyes widen. Oh dear. This... he forgot about her mail. And she came after him. This... this will not end well for him. Turning, he clears his throat, then says "Ah, greetings my fellow adventurers and dearest sister, it is-"
A look of joy on her face, Ceriph darts through the crowd, shouting "Found you! Found you!" With a leap, she pounces on Valadin, cutting him off mid sentence as he reels back into the open doorway.
This isn't going to end well for poor Valadin... |

Shan falls deeply into thought at Gordon's reply, his eyes gazing out-of-focus at the floor.
He only spares a glance to note Ceriph and the other's arrival. 'Sister, huh?' After watching her greet Valadin, he decides it's better not to interrupt them. He moves close enough to Gordon to speak without interfering with anyone else's conversation.
"You make a good point," he says to Gordon. "If you'd like my suggestion, for facing an unknown amount of enemies in an unfamiliar area, we should probably let them bring the fight to us in an area we already control. If we secure this room, we put a rear guard at the entrance and heavy combatants up front at the door. No matter how many are in there, the door is a bottleneck. If we hold the line there, we only have to face a few at a time. But first, I'd feel better if we checked all the walls, to make sure there aren't any false walls or secret passages for the wraiths to sneak up on us through."
Shan has more to say, but he waits for a sign of approval from Gordon. |

Gordon resists the urge to ruffle Shan's hair, "Knew you had a couple ideas floating around in that head of yours." The irritation in his voice had completely evaporated. "As for secret doors it couldn't hurt! I'll take left, you take right. Frost with me!" Frost fire immediately move to cover Gordon's rear drawing her blade. The dormant elemental fury spell tied to Frost Fire ignites giving her a Prismatic glow.

To avoid the movements of the golems Lucy had moved back towards the wall where she as now leaning. Nodding lightly to Frost Fire s she passed she smiled. With the sheer number of Magi here, it was doubtful that they could be over run let alone be in real danger.
Lucy kept her eyes on the group, learning what she could. It had taken her and Gordon weeks to work out the kinks in the illusion spell, but regardless it had be worth it. She was finally free to roam about again, and it was a good feeling, but it seems Gordon ha kept up his usual trouble making habits and had been stirring up the mages through out the realm.
Lucy pulled out a piece of parchment with a spell scribed on to it. Igniting it the spell faded and smudged, casting second wind, but on whom is unclear. Letting loose a sign Lucy straitens herself and moves into the room as Gordon checks for hidden doors, and traps.Last Edited: Mar 12, 2010, 6:10 am |

Shan grins and nods his agreement. He walks to the right side of the room and starts running his hands along the wall. As he inspects its stone surface, Shan continues his suggestions over his shoulder.
"Which would you say is more important: killing all the wraiths or getting to the portal? We could try getting around to cut off escape routes, if there are any on the map, but it might not be worth the effort. And they may not have the sense to run from us anyway."
Shan works his way along the wall. He's only part-way through, but he hasn't yet found any of the familiar signs of hidden doors or secret switches. If he's lucky, that means they aren't there.

Petros was now back with the group looking quite a bit more ragged out than before. The leather straps that had covered his arms and legs where mostly destroyed, reviling runes hidden underneath them. Only the most studied magi in the group might recognize them as extremely high level sealing runes.
"That is Ceriph, Valadin's little sister." Petros responded to Gordon as Ceriph jumped at her brother. "We have grown to quite an interesting group." Petros added.
"Bloody hell Petros, what happened to you, and when did you get.... tattoos?" Semaj asked Petros. It was quite obvious that Semaj himself was unaware of the runes on Petros.
"I had a run in with a lot of small rusty metal creatures, and the... tattoos... I got them a while a go." Petros responded.
Petros then turned to Lucy. "Lady Lucy, before i forget, if that other way is quicker I fixed the path, in case we need to leave this place quicker than we got here. I think Frost Fire and myself took care of most of the pests on that path as well."
Petros turned back to Semaj. "So, what are we waiting for?"
"Good question." Semaj replied. "I got a spell that can get that door open." he then announced with a sinister grin. |

On hearing that last remark Pond Dives behind 88 with surprisingly little agility, his actions are followed by a thump and then faint groaning can be heard.
88 just turns his head away from the expected blast. |

| For once, Laidan thinks perhaps Pond has had a good idea, and with somewhat more finesse puts Kusari between himself and any potential explosion. |

Ceriph's voice chimes out, "Ooh, ooh! I can open the door! I can open it rea-" "Dearest sister it is most unseemly to interr-" "You just interrupted me! So you should shut your big stupid-" "Now see here, young lady, such language is most-" "I'll see here you upside the head if you call me a lady again, I'm a girl!" A pause. "Ceriph, Ladies are girls, so I don't understand-" " Nuh-huh, Ladies are cool and stuff but girls are young and pretty and don't have to be all proper."
During all this, the two have stood up and reentered the chamber with the rest of the group, both falling silent as they remember they're not at home. Clearing his throat- out of tradition, given that he uses magic to speak, not air and vibration- Valadin begins to offer apologies. "Our most heartfelt and sincere apologies for allowing-" "We're sorry" Ceriph cuts him off to say with a brilliant smile- and an elbow to Valadin's iron clad stomach.
"So... what're we doing again?" she asks after a moment. Valadin sighs. |

Thuriya assumes a position behind her clay golem and flashes hand signs at the bone golem to move to the side and out of the expected blast range. "Whenever you are ready, I'm clear", she calls out to the group.

Kyomi looks at Her Shadow as he does a few stretches, settling the scale armor into place.
"I am ready." Her Shadow states, readying his icy blade, a moment before the air around it starts to drip with near frozen moisture.
"I as well." Kyomi adds, opening up her book, and letting a large spider out of the open pages. |

Still inspecting the wall, Shan gives a thumbs-up behind him, showing agreement with Lucy.
"If you were in a hurry, you should have agreed to the 'kick-in-the-door' plan earlier," he says, referring to Semaj. However, Shan speeds up his explanation so as to not try anyone's patience. "Naturally, we'd want our range-capable fighters back a bit, probably near the center of the room, behind the front line. Firing into melee can be complicated, so it would help to have a raised position. Something like Gordon's floating platform from before, to give them a good vantage point. If possible."
Before he finishes, Shan catches sight of something from the corner of his eye. There is an outline of another door in the stone. It's surface blends well with the wall, but that seems to be more for aesthetics than for secrecy. It might be easy to miss, but the seam around the door and an inset handle are clearly visible to anyone close enough. Shan takes a closer look, listening and feeling. It's a little small, compared to the doors they've been passing through. The door doesn't give at all when he places his hand on it, so it's either stuck, tightly locked, or impossibly heavy. He also doesn't hear anything from the other side. It could be a service passageway just as easily as it could be a tiny storage cubbyhole. Nothing obviously dangerous, but he's in a mood to be cautious.
"Found something," he announces. |

Ceriph flounces up the front of the group, peering at the door. She absently lifts her sword an inch out of the sheath and an hint of frost covers the stone nearby. She then brushes her salamander cloak to the side to reveal another sword, which she also checks to make sure it won't stick in the sheath.
After a moment's thought, Valadin decides that there are plenty of ranged support troops and moves to cover the other side of the door, his tiger claws held up but his dart tube at the ready as well. It's not easy to use at close range but opportunities do arise.
"Oh! Right, we're ready, right Val?" The clay golem merely nods, preparing himself for battle. |
