| Am I crazy? I am slowly working my way through the library, dutifully erasing my research after I complete a level 5 golem of a given type. I've just completed Stone level 5 golem, and have started on Iron. My goal is to have a level 5 of each. Expensive, yes, but is it worth it? Or should I simply work on getting a single type of golem and keep working with that? |

No, I don't think so. I don't know how many times I have done this. researches take flesh and bone mostly, and coin isn't that hard to regenerate. I've researched up to level 5 eyes and armor, built a bunch and erased both, then went with all elementals, erased one and went with addy, now i'm considering it again for something else.
There is no real consequence for doing it. so.... why not? Hell, you can get up to level 5 with enough coin and flesh within a day and a half if you ritually log in.

| I agree with you, and since there's really no concequence for it, i figured Why Not. I was just wondering if I was nuts to try to get a level 5 of each kind. (god, the cost of a lvl 5 addy or gem..... but worth it i bet) |

Well, level 5 do have some additional reach. I have not figured out how much additional reach it is, but it could make a difference if you can hit someone in close combat 1 round before they close in to close combat themselves because they have shorter arms.
But really, I have only seen this in a few combats and cannot say how many feet distance you can reach with a large golem really. |

Personally I don't think there's all that much point in building/keeping a level 5 of each type, aside from some minor bragging rights. Generally if you're in a decent clan if you need something you can't build for yourself one of your clan members should be able to build it for you in a reasonable amount of time.
Also, FYI, the highest buildable gem golem right now is only level 2. |
