As reported by a forum-banned user via chat:

When using Rhino Strength (and possibly other strength spells) the golem is shown to have extra carrying capacity (eg 59lbs) but when you get to combat it says "overloaded"

Can anyone else confirm? I don't personally have strength spells in my spellbook.

Report... confirmed...ish

The message definitely shows up, but I don't think the golem registers as overloaded. I tried my golem with three different spells, and the results are as follows

Elephant Strength: Message (incorrect) No observable effect (correct)

Sticky Fingers: Message(correct) No observable effect (incorrect)

Sonic Resistance: Message(correct) Observable effect(correct)

The effect seems to be just a very hefty energy penalty, but I didn't do all that much testing.

I've seen this one happen a bit and had it happen to me.

If you increase a golems strength and then overload it past what it could normally hold, the golem becomes overloaded. (Major Speed and Energy Loss, No loot.)

This, I believe, is a protection put in place so that one cannot strength-buff and overload a golem, remove the strength buff, and send out a golem with a very-overloaded condition, but I may be wrong.

The way I was given to understand it, you can overload a golem with no problems so long as the spell is in place; overloaded is supposed to kick in once the strength spell wears off, as opposed to the golem just dropping things until it's under max weight.

I can confirm it happens.

I believe this was mentioned previously, something to do about when the spells take effect during combat. The check for weight hits prior to the strength spell impacting it. But I could be remembering this incorrectly as well.

Just reporting this is still a problem

Your golem is overloaded, and has problems with the combat.

I'm getting that with 19 pounds free from elephant strength. I can attack Naris taking 100-200 dmg with this set up but am not killing him due to energy drain with the overloaded issue :(
