Please bear in mind that unlike level one creatures -- which were VERY close in stats and nearly identical to provide all players something to fight -- the level two and up critters have significantly different attacks.

Some are slower than others. Some hit harder than others. Some are resistant to damage but don't hit hard. Some do fire or cold damage. Some use weapons. Some drop different amounts of treasure than others. ALL however drop more gold and gems than the level ones. A few even drop items, like food or curiousities.

If one creature seems to tough for a golem, try a different golem. Try a different power source. Try armouring the golem differently. Or try a different critter.

Have fun and let me know any problems. :)

And three more critters were added today:

Ice Elemental, Lvl 2 located in The Icerush

Bog Mummy, Lvl 4 located in Mosswash

Mountain Giant, Lvl 12 located in The Southmount

I'm telling you now -- you fight the giant, you're going to get owned. ;)

FYI for peeps - Old Capital Ruins near Mottonsborough has a really weak lev 2 goblin. Not much gold and almost no secondary resources, but an easy 5 xp for even an unmodified lv 1 fleshie.

Notes on other creatures would be good if you guys could post them here.

Harperdale in Kern

level 2 fire drake - seems to give a large amount of gems

pretty tough to kill with an unmodified level 1 flesh (I've been using lev 1 bone, which has consistently worked)

Mushroom in the iron wood gives nothing but gems and glass. Good source for those.

Kern. West of the swamps. The mushrooms aren't that hard. But I've armored up my fleshy, so hard to determine.

Red Banded Wolf Spiders gove money, gems and gold bars. I use a modified fleshie, but the damage isn't bad.

The archers in scry point are a good match for level 1 fleshy's. Mine usually lost. I didn't incapacitate one until I used a level 1 wood, and I still took more damage than I gave out but I killed it in one hit. Doesn't give out that much considering though...

I should really save up for a compass.

Sorry about spelling, it's late here.

Is it just my imagination, or does the snowfield wight never give ANY loot whatsoever? I can't seem to find anything level 2 near me that gives anything in the way of resources. Unless it's something about my golem or mage that prevents me from getting any resources out of combat anymore.

check the carry capacity of your golem on the view golems page, it's near the bottom on the right. If it's overly armored, it might not be able to hold much loot.

The yellow fang yeti almost always gives out a pretty good amount of glass (75 or so) - I know that's something people have problems finding. It inflicts quite a lot of damage on my lvl 2 bone, but if I tricked it out a bit more it'd be fine.

The yeti at Mount Kestrel also occasionally provides gems, gold bars and adamantine. On top of that, because the mountain has a percentage of swampland, it also heals the Clay Golems. I have been sending a level one clay there pretty regularly and it provides a good amount of resources while healing 5 hp per part.

Unfortunately, my distance make it a 20+ motivation trip to see the Yeti :/

Can I please have some additional monsters. At lease two for every level 5-10 seems very reasonable.

Or a dungeon!

More creatures can and will be added. I'm just overloaded with clan testing/tweakage this week, as well as trying to work in time to whittle down my list of outstanding bugs.

Ultimately, I want to have around a dozen critters of varying levels and abilities in each location. I can't promise when that'll happen though since it'll take time.

That would rule. I have a lvl 1 that is actually fairly good and with my starter fleshy, has been the sole provider of exp for me. I also have a lvl 2 fire drake that apparently has 'nuke breath attack' or something. Everything else is so far away that the 3exp I get from the lvl 1 is fairly good for the nora cost.

I'm with ZugZug... my local level 1 monster drops "other" items much more often than my local level 2 monster... and does 1/4 to 1/3 the damage with just over 1/3 the hp to have to power through.

I've decided that combat with my starter fleshie is much more ... errr... (ROI) rewarding... than trying to spend exponentially more motivation to go find something higher level to play with with another golem. At the same time, since my local level 2 only drops non-gold items rarely, it's pointless to pound on with a higher level golem unless I'm *only* interested in the gold. (I don't think I've ever gotten glass off it, for example. Maybe once.) Even then, a better armored, higher level golem only incapacitates it about 3/4 of the time, as opposed to my fleshie's excellent record against the level 1.

Did the characteristics of creatures or the mechanisms of combat change with this evening's maintenance? This morning, I was fighting the Mt. Kestral yeti, and winning 90% of the time, for 5 XP. Tonight, with the same golem and setup, I'm winning maybe a third of the time, but getting 10 XP per fight.

I've noticed XP has changed across the board. Now in PVP, a flesh lvl 1 vs flesh lvl 1 resulted in a attacker 7 - defender 3 split in XP, while before it was an even 5 - 5.

Looks like Kep tweaked stuff across the board.
