Seventeen is a nice, solid number. Not overly large or unwieldy. Not too small or limited. Four wood golems to provide suppression fire. Two bone golems to make the initial attack. Two gems to follow up and exploit weaknesses. Two iron golems to bull down resistance. Five clay to soak up damage and carry back damaged golems. And two adamantine golems to hold the line and act as a focal point. Oh, and a single Magus leading a small group of apprentice Magi, each controlling a single mindless golem. All in all, a rather balanced strike-force.
And very likely not something Laiden would appreciate having aimed at his private workshop early one morning... |

Laidan would certainly be concerned about the group, maybe even going as far as to panic and simply flee the area. Or maybe he would marshal his forces and call in reinforcements from nearby clan members. Of course the world may never know, since he's nowhere near his workshop.
Instead, the approaching force sees the lone gem golem he is in the habit of leaving on guard duty (to deter salesmen and the like) patrolling the grounds, and those with better optics might spot his standard battle scarred clan guard posted in the shadows.
As they get closer, the gem golem ceases its patrol and positions itself in the road between the TOMU group and the workshop grounds, readying some sort of flaming whip. A loud voice emanates from the golem: "Please Halt and Announce yourself" Last Edited: Apr 4, 2011, 1:42 am |

"Kaelas SaKuronue of the Clan of TOMU," is the almost polite reply. "Here to utter destroy and lay waste to any and all who stand between me and the recovery of my fellow Magistrate."
He leans forward a little, hands resting on the hilt of the wicked looking blade he's suddenly holding point down against the earth. "Stand aside," he commands in an icily bored tone.
Beside him, the various apprentices mumble and gesture wildly, trying to get the golems they're controlling into place. None of them are really up to Magus standards so each golem won't fight as well as it should. But given that there's so many of them, that doesn't really matter too much... |

| The golem tilts its head in a surprising imitation of a listening or thinking human. After a moment it replies: "Please clarify what you mean by 'fellow magistrate.'" It plays back an actual recording of Kaelas's voice for the last words. |
