I've also upped my golem size, and the benefits are....hazy at best. Perhaps a clarification on that Ark? |

Some of the problem is a case of the size benefits being undocumented. A golem of the smallest (starting) size has the following slots (Size 1): Head, Abdomen, and Chest: 2 slots. All other locations with 1 slot. A golem of the next size (Size 2) up has: Head, Abdomen, Chest, Right/Left Arm: 2 slots. All other locations with 1 slot. A golem of the next size (Size 3) after that has: Head, Abdomen, Chest, Right/Left Arm, Right/Left Hands: 2 slots. All other locations with 1 slot. A golem of the next (Size 4): All locations: 2 slots. A golem of the next (Size 5): Abdomen, Chest: 3 slots. All other locations: 2 slots. Etc. In addition to slots, golems also gain "reach" once they become medium or large size. That means they can swing with melee weapons while being not quite in melee. An example of reach would be the giant and ogre creatures, both of which can swing before a attacker gets to melee. Since golems can be treated as somewhat disposable, I will probably tighten up the progression since it's unlikely that people will spend the experience to increase a golem's size to max. Kep |

you say that a starting size golem has two slots in the abdomen, yet it wont let me put an alchemical voidstone on my golems abdomen (requires two slots). im absolutely certain none of the slots are taken. |

seems strange that there are more hit points in the arms & hands than in the legs. |

Also, if you make a new head, it's going to be size small by default, so losing parts in combat means losing slots when you attach a new head. That's really not good. I've got to rethink slots in general. I'm not happy with the fact that they're more confusing than they should be, for starters, and they're just not working well. I'm seriously considering just tying the number of slots/size to the level and doing away with the xp-for-size thing entirely. That would make things a lot easier to understand, more intuitive, and give added value to researching higher level parts. [EDIT] - In fact, I've turned off golem size change function until I correct this. Really unhappy with the way it currently works. KepLast Edited: Apr 17, 2008, 3:43 pm |

Just another little bug i found in size thing just now. If you examine your golem the size is shown in two places. One at the top right with a little graphic representation, and one in the "increase golem size" section. The numbers shown for my current golem are both current size 1, but if you hover over the graphic the tooltip text pops up with current size 0 |

id like to recomend extra carrying space/weight with each size upgrade. that would be something worth upgrading for. |

You already get extra space for higher level (larger size) golems, and now with spells you can increase the weight it can carry too! (Hypothetically once that's fixed)Plus there are invisible benefits associated with larger sizes too. All in all higher level golems have several advantages over lower level ones. Much of the information in this thread is obsolete since it is so old. |
