I have heard people talk about different advantages of different golems. Some of these advantages I could find in the charts in the help screen. But some things (like clay golems regenerate? what?) I just came across that information in the forums somewhere. Is there a list of what all the different golem types do special? Or a way to find out without building one of each? |

No list of stuff like that. :) Forum diving/ actual experience will reveal the clay (regeneration in marsh), bone (no desert penalties), and wood (no ranged penalty in woods). There might be more, but I don't recall anything specific. |

The others have advantages that just aren't as clear cut. Flesh golems are the second fastest golem next to glass, and are probably the best choice for farming exp early in the game. Stone and iron are considerably slower, yet they hit much harder and take less exp to completely max out the strength than other golems. Exotic metal golems are of decent speed and hit with damage that is hard to armor against. Adamantine is just a beast all around, but the upkeep is insane. |

Since xp isn't increased at all by using a higher level golem, fleshies are probably the best for getting xp, since the lower level things you fight do less damage, and thus less upkeep. Also they can be transmuted to iron for a low level bundle of awesome. |

Is it me... or is this an inherant flaw in the game? I've been wondering this for ages... what is the point in getting better golems (except to defend oneself and maybe find some better secondary resources?)... in the long run the fleshie is the best golem you can have! Shouldn't something be done about this? ... though I'm not sure what! |

Well, for just xp farming, yeah, a fleshie is the best. But for PvP you usually need something a bit more robust. Hopefully we'll eventually see higher level golems earning us more xp. Maybe something like the current rate + the golem's level in xp? Of course that would negate or help to negate the xp penalty for higher level players attacking with high-end golems against beginners. Perhaps that penalty should be increased as well. |

I think the 10 xp cap is a bit unnessesary actually. Sure, I could send my flesh golem against the mountain giant and get like 30 exp for it, but i could only do it once. Even with armor, it's likely to get blown to bits the first time i do it. |
