these may be somewhat newbish questions to some but i am a newbie 1.are the barricades availible to non-premium members if so do they have some specific requirement to build? (asking to try and figure out why i can't build barricades) 2.whats the increase of number of golems availible in the basement per building level? another question how much adamantine total would be needed for all the parts of a golem?Last Edited: Jun 29, 2008, 5:55 am |

1. Yes, i believe you need to have your workshop up a few levels first. 2. One. 3. If you build adamantine limbs you're insane. Way to hard to keep up. The torso costs 7500 for level 1. |

Yeah; Adamantine limbs are utterly pointless. The Adamantine benefit really only applies to the torso, so you're better off with Iron limbs. This applies equally to all exotic material golems, really; high cost + no benefit = don't do it! |

This applies equally to all exotic material golems, really; high cost + no benefit = don't do it! Well i can think of three secondary resources that might have some benefits for close range combat. If what i'm thinking is correct. The three are copper, brass, and bronze. they all three get a damage bonus in heat, sonic, and cold respectively. a copper left hand would add heat damage to the golems attack, and a bronze right hand would add a cold damage to that same golems attack, this may not contradict what you said about some material making pointless and expensive parts but it does point out iron isn't always best. btw i was mostly asking about how much an entire golem would take just so i could think of what the cost of repairs would be. p.s. if i'm wrong about this meh i was taking a guess based on some of the data i saw on the charts in the help section of this siteLast Edited: Jun 29, 2008, 8:03 pm |

Actually you only do damage based on what the golems chest is. So if you have a bronze chest, you will do cold damage REGARDLESS of what your hands and arms are made of. It works the other way as well, if I have copper hands, but a stone chest, I only get the stone damage. no copper benefits. The main advantage of body parts of different materials is you get the HP and resistances for that part, based on whatever it is made of. |

Halftea's right. The chest determines damage type. Though exotic limbs have their place. The main reason I could see to get exotic metal limbs is say if you want to attack a copper golem. Well your iron golem will probably get its rear handed to it. Unless you have an iron chest with copper limbs, then the only part that takes heavy damage would be the chest, and it will still do pound damage which unarmored copper golems dont have much resistance to. |

That last doesn't make much sense to me. Primary resources are cheap and easily replaceable, while Copper actually invokes a money cost, and has lower HP then Iron. As such, unless you're loaded with cash, you're better off in most cases using something cheap that you can replace. All the energy golems are somewhat weak to physical attack if unarmored, true... but you're probably not going to run into an unarmored energy golem, because that's just a really bad idea. Faced with copper specifically, you'd be better off using copper banding; that way, you won't be bleeding exotic materials. Unless he's got a fire-based weapon or has invested XP into his golem, two pieces of copper banding on each part of your golem will minimize the damage you take, at a lower initial cost then copper limbs, and with no additional upkeep cost. There is, unfortunately, no equivalent against Bronze or Brass; so unless you want to spend an awful lot of money, you're better off using a lot of cheaper golems. |
