Well I was just considering the whole strength attribute option for golems, and figure there should be a defense trait as well. The trait itself could either be an evasion modifier (0.X per level) or it could be a a flat out increase to damage reduction (say +1 every 10 points or so). I bring this up because I have noticied that anyone that decides to add strength and any weapon tends to have a hefty advantage even with the armor I am seeing. Granted I am still realitively new to the armor making so it might just be the low level armor stinks. Oh well food for thought. |

Heavier armor will do quite a bit to soak up more damage. The downside is that you can only put it on a stronger golem. So in a way, increasing strength increases defense as well. Also, I'm slightly sure that golems do have a hidden "evasion stat" that affects combat, or at least that glass golems get an evasion bonus. So what you're looking for already exists, it's just found by building bigger golems and strapping on more armor rather than spending xp. |
