Ok this is downright silly. I'm a new player and somehow got tossed up onto the rank board recently. As soon as I hit the rank board I got smashed...pretty much everything I had was taken. I rolled with it built up...got out a higher tier golem with the help of a buddy I brought to this game. So I got out a higher tier golem then the fellow who took pretty much all my gold and decided to try to get it back. My Golem got totally decimated...My golem fully decked out in armor and what not did 38 or so damage while his did about 300? While my Golem is a higher tier? Downright silly.

So now I'm pretty much in a totally SOL position again, but I don't feel like shrugging this one off. So my account is going inactive...Good idea for a game, but its just not ready for the pvp aspect...

Yup, PvP still favours defense too much. It really takes a group to take down a single magus. I'm working on tweaks, but been sidetracked due to real life work/job and fixing various bugs lately.

If you set yourself inactive tonight, then it won't actually kick in until tomorrow... you'll still be able to keep track of the forums even while inactive, so please do check in regularly to see how the updates are coming. :)

Well at least the game seems to have a nice player base. The dude took pity on me and helped me get back on my feet a little after my attack on em. Hats off to ya man you know who you are.

Though while the player base is so small you might want to consider shortening the ranking list, but I suppose before too long it won't matter.

Heh, it wasn't pity so much as I felt like an ass once I saw how unevenly matched our Golems were. It made me wish i'd never attacked you in the first place. I'd like to, if you want, continue helping you to replace the resources I plundered from you as well as help you in rebuilding your Golem. (I.e the Alchemical Heatstone I gave you)

I think there needs to be a way for the attacker to gauge their opponent before attacking. If i'd know his relative strength before hand I'da left the fella alone.

Accidently hit submit before I was finished. Nah you helped plenty man. I really thank ya for that.

My first plan was to build up my resources and then get my buildings and upgrades when I was setup with those. I knew I would get hit if I got on the rank board and I thought this route would slow my progress towards it, but it shot up faster then expected. So I panic'd and tried to get the buildings up I needed to get a better golem out, but I just couldn't do it in time. Thats sort of why I could get one out so fast after.

Maybe I'll just stay active but turtle up heavily....Seems the best plan right now and then when it is fixed I'll be able to jump in on the fun.

Actually -this brings up an interesting point. It's a bit cumbersome to help someone out. You have to work through the market. Having a way to send resources to another mage would be a convenient feature down the road.

just a thought...

I'm considering some options for letting folks help one another: Possibly limiting it to between members of the same clan, or requiring a minor motivation twinge (2-5pts) depending on what's sent, or a time delay before it arrives at the other workshop, or a percentage of the total cost (2-5%) in NPC fees.

Hadn't made a decision yet.

People are going to find a way to do it whether you build it in or not...so really I think its best that it be built to allow it. I mean if I wanted to help my buddy I could tell him to put an offer on the market of say 1 gold coin for 1000 flesh. No one in their right mind would accept it, but it would get the job done as far helping my buddy.

Muelsfell Express? Go to the shipping center and MeulEx a package of resources, paying an amount based on the total weight of the shipment.

Muelsfell Union: When you absolutely have to wagon someone money in a hurry.

Of course, adjust to fit the story. Maybe the local inn can arrange shipments between mages based on the distances the wagon travels. Lots of possibilities.
