I just made live some new forum code that should help address the 'read/unread' strangeness.

As a result, you'll likely notice that everything is considered unread now, though once you read it, it should properly mark it read from then on.

The "mark read" buttons are a touch slow on some of the larger sub-forums, so it looks like the forums will need a bit more tweakage yet.

I've made some tweaks to the forums and the "mark read" stuff to speed things up. My previous comment regarding the "mark read" buttons being slow should no longer be applicable.
