I'm assuming this isn't possible. But on the off chance it is:
Can one replace destroyed body parts of a level x golem with level x+1 body parts? I'm assuming not, and I suppose it wouldn't be particularly advantageous now that there is the salvage yard, but nevertheless....

Gee, I wonder why my flesh hits like it has arms of iron? Hmm...

Okay, so I don't know for certain that it HITS with the same power as an iron, but I know it takes damages like one.

str and how hard they hit is based on the golem type, not the arms or hands, so a fleshie with other types of parts attached won't do more damage, he'll just have more hitpoints.

Which makes the opposite true as well. Make an iron torso, but put lower level pieces on it. Once you've got enough resource buildings built up, let the pieces destroy themselves to be replaced by better, stronger ones. Course, make sure you don't replace the hands first. When the arms go, the hands go as well.

That's another tip from you're Uncle Lar.

A related question: Experience gained. Does that too depend on the type of the torso only? How does level figure in? (As in level 2 flesh vs. level 1 bone, say)

As someone who had my iron'd up fleshie thrashed - it hits like a fleshie, I just didn't lose parts nearly as often.

More specifically, it depends on the chest. My original flesh has had its abdomen and pelvis updated (the pelvis twice now) with bone parts, but even though everything else but the chest is made of bone, it's still considered a flesh golem.
