It will be good for rp when Arkham is able to implement this. Even though it could make for some interesting complications, for example what if a woman from NWO (cause of course females are evil) marries a guy from Magier (insert comment here) can you imagine the family feuds?? But, a thought occurred to me this morning...the character ages. Imagine a male char (age 37) with a daughter that is 24 and a wife that is 15. Is it a remarriage with a young mistress or a warp caused by a time spell gone bad? |

Maybe Kep can change the profile system to allow us to change our Magi's ages to smooth over stuff like that (hint-hint). |

but it does beg the question...are there laws against under-age marriage? cause you have to wonder what would be considered middle aged...anyone know the life expectancy of a magus? |

If/when we have the option to add a last name... can we be able to edit our first and possibly middle names? Now that I'm getting into RP on my clan boards, Yami Kuronue ought to be two words, and, er, neither is a last name, or at least not one I'd want to share with others... and my boyfriend's username is ChaosRed, which isn't very namelike at all. Can we have names seperate from our usernames? |

As far as sharing a last name I truly have no idea, custom dictates that you take his name but depending on your boyfriend he might take yours. As for separating first and last names that is a coding issue. And one that I highly doubt Arkham has any interest addressing/changing. Spaces can make user names very complicated and computers don't like them which is why registration for anything tends to forbid them. (been a while since I did ANY programming and i never did much to begin with so I can't remember exact reasons) |

Just to interject for a moment, spaces should have no baring. A space is just a number to a computer, just like any other character. Everybody is known by a number in the database any ways (or I would hope), so names should be able to have spaces in them. It should have been implemented earlier in my opinion, if names should have been chosen to fit into an RP atmosphere. |

maybe we will be given a chance to adjust the names when the game officially goes live rather than being in beta? |

Not a perfect idea but we could keep our current names as our "work names" and have our real names (first, last with spaces) only on the profile page. Making rules for ages is even harder when you factor in that some people (myself included) have RPed that they're Magi aren't "human" or even from Mueslfell. Kaelas arrived in shorty after the Magus Cabal collapse but he's already a couple thousand years old, as an Arcerian (points to anyone that knows the origins) he could easily live to seven thousand. Another person might have a completely different aging progression so being 10 years old for them could be half their life span. |

Unless we decide to RP ourselves as family members - cousins, siblings, something. He's my IRL boyfriend, but we both love RP and usually end up having characters connected in some way but not always dating. |

i just figured that you and your boyfriend would RP your characters together. so in the case of characters getting married it is a story matter of whether the girl takes the guy's name, the guy takes the girl's name, or the two combine names with a hyphen "-". if your two characters are relatives the story is different but the result is the same (you two would have to agree on a family name. thinking about it, this would be a similar situation to the family group in soul society in the series Bleach. at least at the outset. |

The Kuchiki clan, with the adoption? Yup. Maybe we should work that into our RPd strategies... (if you're curious, we decided on cousins of some sort) |
