So i have noticied the hidden room is kinda pointless above level 1 pretty much. Granted it provides new characters with protection from being constantly raided, but beyond that once you hit the 10k resources mark it protects half, max. Anything beyond storage bin 10 and its pretty much laughable. Well my suggestion is instead of a set number perhaps changing it to a percentage of the overall resources. If you still wanted to give newer people good protection it could be XX% or YYYY whichever is more. It doesn't even particularly need to be a huge percent to have a decent effect (30% of 40k would be 12k still a fairly respectable number of resources, not necessarily great but enough to at least do something with.) Anyways just a thought. Vardos the Dark Putz Better killing through Arcanist Energy |

um...it always protects half. if you hadn't noticed the hidden room protects level*500 of each resource (whereas storage holds up level*1000). Not calling you an idiot. Far from it, I would like to see a percentage rate of resources protected. problems that I see are: makes the code more complicated (maybe not much but still...) and it has to be worth something to attack your workshop beyond attacking your golem and screwing you over (if it was easy to protect all of your resources people would be more inclined to detroy your shop than raid it) |

Nanashi, you're completely wrong. Not calling you an idiot. The storage bin begins going up by quite a bit more than 1000 per level after a certain point. |

I think Vardos is referring to the fact that your hidden room's maximum level is 10. So you are right Nanashi, it is level * 500, but if your max is 10 * 500, that means 5,000 resources protected when you have 100k+ resources maximum to hold is rather absurd. Perhaps an easier way is to set it so that your hidden room can be upgraded to your storage bin's current level. So at level,...13? (I'm working so I can't check), you can get up to 80,000 resources in your storage bin. So that means you'd be able to upgrade your hidden room to level 13 as well, being able to protect 40,000 resources. Let's face it, with the upcoming changes to the market system, only protecting half of your resources will still leave tons left over due to the money requirement being the bane of everybody's ability to progress. And if half of the resources is too much, then maintain the linear progression of the hidden room. |

Technically I am not wrong. I just hadn't gotten far enough to know otherwise. I only started playing 2 weeks ago. Up to the point where I am what I said holds true, I couldn't be aware of changes or limits in the programming at later levels. i would agree that the hidden room should be able to upgrade to the same level as the storage. edit: I would like to apologize. I was expressing my opinion based on my limited experience with the game. Obviously I should keep my mouth shut.Last Edited: Jul 21, 2008, 7:01 am |

Nah its all good i just noticied that the bin becomes obsolete for the amount you pump into it very early. I just managed to go over the 10k mark a couple days ago and it was brought to my attention that its basically a waste of resources since it protects so little. Much better upgrades for your money then the hidden room. I think i may have figured a way to balance it lets say the storage room is level 7. If you set it so that the hidden room at the same level was 50% you could make it so that each level difference, there would be a 5% change. example level 7 storage room level 7 hidden room = 50% same storage level 4 hidden room = 35% same storage level 10 hidden room = 65% granted the hidden room would then need to be able to level to the same extent as your storage room but then you would at least have incentive to keep up with it. Note: those numbers are all examples and are truly interchangeable i just used them to make it simpler for my example. |

I think the Hidden Room is basically there to protect your valuable secondary resources. Not for the overabundant primary ones. |

garfield is exactly right, the main use of the hidden room is for your secondaries. However, I can see a point where the hidden room is no longer useful even for protecting them as can be seen by the tremendous wealth of a few players and the changes to suggested here may be a good idea. Also the hidden room is useless at protecting money, everyon's favourite resource. |

to me, hidden room = bomb shelter. When they come and obliterate everything I have, I will have a small supply as seed capital to rebuild. |
