Logs show that you didn't receive one.

Did you complete the tutorial or hit the 'skip tutorial' button? If you don't do either, you won't get your starter.

Also, keep an eye out for ways to improve the tutorial. I'm a few moments away from starting a post to request suggestions on how to make the tutorial easier and more useful.

oh, holy crud. Been watching my housemate play and didn't really need a tutorial. But isn't the starter golem a one of a kind irreplaceable piece of gold? ~sad~

You should still be able to take the tutorial or specifically click the "skip tutorial" button to receive the starter. :)
