The way it seems to work, is just a +1 tacked on to what ever you used to do. So if you did 10 damage with your Level 1 Clay golem, whom the chart says does 8 Bashing, 2 Slashing, and give it +10 str, for that damage bonus, you get... 11 damage. Why not increase all three of those damage stats, instead of just a +1 to the result? Looking at the chart, (under help--> charts) a flesh 1 does: 3 Bash 1 Slash 2 Pierce. Bone 1: 3 bash, 5 slash 3 pierce. Even with +20 strength on the flesh golem, it would be doing ONE point of total damage more than a level 1 bone. And going by the chart it would take a massive +50 strength upgrade to match a level 1 iron golem. Seems like a fair upgrade change with my idea. :) |

I don't necessarily disagree with this idea, however it currently increases minimum damage so I would say it's worthwhile as is. |

Yeah, one doesn't usually upgrade strength for the damage boost, but for the carrying capacity instead. Bone and flesh golems with the strength to carry several iron plates are pretty deadly. Also with those golems, one rarely does more than minimum damage against stronger golems (excepting some of the better melee weapons) so the +1 damage to every attack is pretty nice. As things are, I think the first change needed to the strength increase is to use xp specific to the golem rather than its controller's xp. XP is valuable, and it's only rarely (if ever) worth spending 750+ so that your golem can carry around some more armor or hit a little harder. But yes, I'm sure that in the future significant changes will be made to the strength system. Question is: how high up is it on Ark's to-do list? |
